Job Summary

We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Accountant to independently manage the end-to-end finance operations of one of our key business verticals. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Xero and experienced in overseeing daily accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and budgeting tasks. You will act as the single point of accountability for the vertical’s financial health and reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage daily bookkeeping and general ledger entries in Xero
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of books
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and P&L analyses
• Generate vertical-specific financial dashboards and commentary

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Review, approve, and post vendor bills and expense claims
• Manage invoicing, customer collections, and credit control
• Track and reconcile intercompany and intra-vertical transactions

3. Bank & Cash Management

• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Manage petty cash, payment scheduling, and fund transfers

• Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Prepare annual budgets in coordination with operations
• Conduct monthly variance analysis and provide insights on deviations
• Recommend cost optimizations and revenue improvement strategies

5. Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure accurate VAT filings and regulatory compliance (UAE or relevant jurisdiction)
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
• Maintain statutory records and documentation in line with audit standards

6. Process & System Management

• Maintain financial controls and process documentation
• Drive automation and improvements within Xero and related tools
• Train and coordinate with other departments for financial input accuracy
