Role Summary
The Officer, Alpha Middle Office Business Requirements, supports the delivery of strategic Alpha MO initiatives by leading business requirements definition, documentation, and validation. This role partners closely with Middle Office Operations, Alpha Product, Technology, Data, and Client Service teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements that support effective solution design and delivery. The Officer plays a critical role in ensuring Alpha MO solutions meet client expectations, operational needs, and control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Business Requirements & Analysis
- Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business requirements for Alpha Middle Office initiatives
- Partner with MO Operations, Client Service, and Product teams to understand current‑state processes, pain points, and desired outcomes
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non‑functional requirements for Technology and delivery teams
- Maintain traceability of requirements through design, build, testing, and implementation
Alpha MO Process & Operating Model Support
- Document current‑state and future‑state Alpha MO processes, data flows, and operating models
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for process improvement within Middle Office workflows
- Support onboarding, platform enhancements, remediation efforts, and client‑driven change initiatives
- Ensure requirements align with Alpha product capabilities and standardized MO operating models
- Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and Technology delivery teams
- Facilitate working sessions, walkthroughs, and reviews to confirm shared understanding of requirements
- Support PMO and delivery leads by providing clarity on scope, assumptions, and dependencies
- Contribute to client and internal discussions as a subject‑matter resource for Alpha MO requirements
Testing & Implementation Support
- Support development of test scenarios, user acceptance testing (UAT), and operational readiness activities
- Validate delivered solutions against documented business requirements
- Assist with defect triage, clarification of requirements, and resolution support during testing
- Support implementation, stabilization, and transition to BAU
Controls, Documentation & Governance
- Ensure requirements documentation meets State Street governance, audit, and control standards
- Maintain organized and up‑to‑date requirements artifacts in approved repositories
- Support change control by documenting impacts of requirement changes and enhancements
- Adhere to Alpha and Investment Servicing PMO standards and delivery disciplines

Required Qualifications & Experience
- 2-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent role within Financial Services
- Experience supporting Middle Office, Investment Servicing, Custody, or Asset Management operating models
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, data flows, and MO operational processes
- Proven ability to translate complex business needs into structured, actionable requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
