Job Summary:

Naval Architect Designers are responsible for designing and developing various types of marine vessels and structures. They work closely with engineering teams, shipbuilders, and clients to create innovative and efficient designs that meet specific requirements and comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:
• Design marine vessels and structures, including ships, boats, submarines, and offshore platforms.
• Create detailed design plans, blueprints, and specifications using CAD software and other design tools.
• Develop hull forms, structural layouts, and systems integration plans.

• Analysis and Simulation:
• Perform stability, hydrodynamics, and structural analyses to ensure the safety and performance of vessel designs.
• Use simulation software to model vessel behavior under various conditions and loads.
• Analyze and interpret data from physical model tests and sea trials.

• Project Management:

• Coordinate design activities with engineering teams, shipyards, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to design plans.

• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all designs comply with international, national, and industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety evaluations for vessel designs.
• Prepare and submit regulatory documentation and reports.

• Innovation and Research:
• Stay updated on the latest technologies, materials, and methods in naval architecture and marine engineering.
• Conduct research and development to improve vessel performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Implement innovative design solutions and technologies in projects.

• Client Interaction:
• Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and provide design solutions that meet their needs.
• Present design concepts, plans, and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and guidance throughout the design and construction process.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or certifications in naval architecture or marine engineering are advantageous.

• Previous experience in naval architecture or marine design, preferably with a focus on vessel design and construction.
