NPD - Cell Engineer

Qualification

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering or Science with specialization in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or Electrochemistry.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cell or battery development.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Conduct market research on raw materials and lithium-ion cell prices and trends.
2. Identify and evaluate manufacturers and cell models that meet technical and commercial requirements.
3. 
   Facilitate inspection and testing of incoming cell lots.
4. Participate in supplier assessment audits for lithium-ion cell manufacturers.
5. Coordinate external agency testing of cells.
6. Conduct analysis of cell failures from incoming inspections, in-process checks, and field returns.
7. Document and manage projects related to lithium-ion cell development.
8. Undertake ad-hoc activities related to projects like battery development, battery outsourcing, manufacturing line development etc.
9. Prepare monthly market research reports for top management.

Requirements

1. Strong command of English (written and verbal).
2. Knowledge of Li-ion cell chemistry, formats, production processes, and market trends.
3. Familiarity with cell testing standards (Global & Indian).
4. Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
6. High communication skills, commitment, and intercultural competence.
7. Experience in automotive or electromobility is desirable, especially in battery cell development.
8. Proficiency in MS Office tools.

9. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., IcSoft ERP, SAP ERP or Oracle E-Business Suite) is an added advantage.
