Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager – Digital Transformation

Location: Abu Dhabi (with potential site deputation as per project needs)

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Digital Transformation

Reports To: Operations and Maintenance Digital Solutions head.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a high-caliber Project Manager with a strong engineering foundation and 8–10 years of experience leading digital transformation projects within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will possess a Core Engineering background (Chemical is preferred) combined with proven leadership in managing the full project lifecycle, from business case development to site-wide deployment.

This role requires a strategic leader who can own the delivery of enterprise-wide initiatives involving IT/OT integration, advanced analytics, and digital solutions. You will be responsible for the triple constraint (scope, schedule, and budget) while ensuring that digital initiatives translate into tangible operational value and asset performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of digital transformation programs across refining, petrochemical, or upstream operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and KPIs in alignment with corporate strategy, ensuring technical solutions solve real-world operational challenges.
  • Direct and manage multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, and IT, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Manage the project budget and procurement, including final approval of work breakdown structures and the evaluation of third-party digital solutions.
  • Act as the primary interface for stakeholders, facilitating steering committee meetings and providing executive-level briefings on project health and ROI.
  • Own the Risk Management plan, proactively identifying technical or organizational bottlenecks and implementing mitigation strategies to prevent project delays.
  • Approve and oversee the development of project documentation, including Project Execution Plans (PEP), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Change Management strategies.
  • Drive the adoption of Agile or Hybrid methodologies to accelerate the delivery of digital pilots and proof-of-concepts (PoCs).
  • Ensure the role maintains active and professional engagement with external vendors and clients to ensure delivery alignment and partnership success.
  • Lead organizational change management, ensuring that site personnel are equipped to adopt and sustain new digital workflows and tools.
