Cloud Security Engineer

Role & responsibilities

MUST Tools: Trivy, Bursuite, Wiz, Azure and AWS

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, identify, and mitigate security risks across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities for cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and development teams to enhance cloud security posture, including secure configuration, access control, and policy enforcement.
• Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Create clear technical documentation and reports on findings and recommend actionable mitigations for risks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-4 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or IT, with at least 2 years focused on cloud platform security (preferably Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Expertise with common security tools and processes for vulnerability scanning, threat detection, and remediation (e.g., Burp Suite, Nessus, Metasploit).
• Familiarity with cloud-native security controls such as IAM, firewalls, encryption.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automating security monitoring or controls.
• Relevant certifications preferred: Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, CEH, or OSCP.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and effective written and verbal communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
