Teradata Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize Teradata solutions to support data warehousing and analytical needs.
• Utilize Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, FastExport and TPT (Teradata Parallel Transporter) for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Develop complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to meet business requirements.
• Perform data validation, quality checks, and ensure data accuracy across Teradata environments.
• 
  Optimize Teradata queries for performance and scalability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data loads and resolve issues related to ETL processes.
• Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for data integration and management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata development and utilities.
• Strong proficiency in Teradata SQL and utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, FastExport, TPT, TPump).
• Experience in performance tuning and query optimization in Teradata.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience with data modeling and database design principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with large datasets in a complex data environment.
• Proactive, Good Communication skills and should be able to handle demanding customers and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data integration tools like Informatica or IICS.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their data services.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience in implementing data security and governance best practices.
