Role Purpose :
We are seeking a high-impact GM - Finance to lead the financial strategy, enterprise governance, and overall fiscal stewardship of TM Digital.AI Labs. Reporting directly to the CEO, the finance head will play a transformative role in shaping the financial foundation of a rapidly scaling digital and technology subsidiary within Tata Motors. The ideal leader will bring strategic foresight, executive maturity, and the ability to partner closely with technology, product, and digital business leaders to build a robust, compliant, and future-ready financial ecosystem that aligns with the companys innovation-led growth agenda.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Finance Leadership :
- Architect and lead the annual operating plan, long-term strategic roadmap, and enterprise financial priorities to accelerate the companys digital and analytics transformation agenda.
- Spearhead enterprise-wide budgeting, rolling forecasts, multi-year outlooks, and dynamic scenario planning with a forward-looking, data-driven lens.
- Establish clear financial guardrails to balance Run, Grow, and Transform investments while ensuring sustainable profitability and capital efficiency.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on capital allocation, digital product investments, and portfolio prioritization.

Cost Transparency & Value Optimization :
- Drive end-to-end financial visibility at project, product, and platform levels - enabling granular cost tracking, margin analysis, and ROI measurement.
- Institutionalize project-wise cost governance frameworks, including resource utilization analytics, cloud cost management, vendor spend oversight, and capitalized vs. operating expense discipline.
- Rationalize Run the Business costs through structured efficiency programs, automation-led savings, and zero-based budgeting principles.
- Identify and unlock funding capacity from operational efficiencies to reinvest in high-impact digital and analytics transformation initiatives.
- Implement robust unit economics and product profitability models to inform pricing, scaling, and portfolio decisions.
Controllership & Financial Reporting :
- Lead high-quality monthly and quarterly financial reporting, delivering sharp performance insights, variance analytics, risk assessments, and forward-looking recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
- Oversee timely and accurate month/quarter-end book closure in partnership with business units and shared services, ensuring strong governance and financial integrity.
- Enhance management reporting dashboards to provide real-time transparency on revenue streams, project profitability, transformation spend, and cash flow metrics.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure timely and high-quality completion of Statutory Audits, Internal Audits, and all Board/Audit Committee reporting requirements.
- Strengthen governance through structured compliance oversight, internal control enhancement, enterprise risk frameworks, and proactive mitigation measures.
- Build financial discipline across digital product development cycles, including stage-gate funding, milestone-based investment reviews, and post-implementation value realization tracking.
Value Creation & Strategic Partnerships :
- Champion enterprise-wide value creation initiatives spanning cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and digital ROI maximization.
- Partner closely with Technology, Product, Digital Engineering, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, and shared services teams to ensure financial rigor across the digital lifecycle.
- Serve as a cultural change agent, embedding financial accountability and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile :
- Chartered Accountant with 15 - 20 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally within complex, multi-entity, or technology-driven environments.
- Proven ability to lead governance, compliance, and financial stewardship for an independent legal entity.
- Adept at partnering with CXO-level leaders; able to influence, challenge, and shape strategic decision-making in a fast-evolving digital ecosystem.
