Location: Chennai

Reports to: CEO / Board of Directors

Team Size: Oversees Global HR Team

Employee Base Supported: 1,000 employees across Europe, Americas, EMEA

???? Role Summary

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead our global HR strategy, build foundational HR frameworks, and support our international workforce of 1,000+ employees. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in setting up scalable HR processes, shaping people-first cultures, and ensuring compliance with employment laws across multiple jurisdictions, including the EU, UK, US, Canada, and EMEA.

????? Key Responsibilities

???? Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute a global HR strategy aligned with the companys long-term vision.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on all HR-related matters.
  • Establish a strong global HR presence to support regional and country-specific needs.

???? Policy & Process Development

  • Design and implement HR policies, handbooks, and SOPs across all HR domains (recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compensation, etc.).
  • Build the HR infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring scalability and compliance.
  • Develop performance management frameworks and KPIs to drive high-performing teams.

?? Compliance & Legal

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across multiple regions (including but not limited to GDPR, FMLA, ADA, Equal Employment laws, IR35, etc.).
  • Liaise with regional legal counsel to handle employment disputes, contracts, and terminations.
  • Lead internal audits and establish ethical and compliant HR practices.

???? Organizational Design & Workforce Planning

  • Define organizational structures across countries and functions.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives in collaboration with business units.
  • Develop change management plans and support M&A due diligence where applicable.

???? Culture & Engagement

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the company.
  • Build and scale employee engagement strategies tailored to global teams.
  • Design and monitor global employee satisfaction programs (e.g., pulse surveys, feedback loops).

???? Talent Management & Development

  • Build scalable recruitment, onboarding, and L&D frameworks for a distributed workforce.
  • Identify leadership development needs and mentor next-generation HR leaders.
  • Oversee succession planning and organizational capability building.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years as a CHRO/VP of HR in global organizations.
  • Experience leading HR functions for companies with 1000+ employees across multiple continents.
  • Strong exposure to Europe, North America, and EMEA labor laws, with hands-on implementation of cross-border HR policies.
  • Proven expertise in building HR operations from scratch in scale-up or high-growth companies.
  • Demonstrated success in developing HR strategies, compensation models, performance management, and employee relations frameworks.
  • Experience working in matrixed, multicultural, and remote-first environments.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; Global HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, GPHR, CIPD) preferred.
