Fleet Planning Analyst

Job Purpose: Job Purpose Plan, control and administer in liaison with Manager Fleet Planning the evaluation of fleet & aircraft product planning studies. This includes the upkeep and control of fleet databases, data research and collection as well and reporting. Helps the Fleet Planning department create reports and recommendations on fleet solutions to be submitted to EK’s Sr. Management to make strategic decisions on the future available development of the Emirates fleet, future acquisition, product enhancement and retirement of aircraft. Job Accountabilities • Assist the Manager Fleet Planning and the VP Fleet Planning & Research (VP FP&R) on any fleet planning or special project activity as and when required by the airline Senior Management. • Collect, gather, validate data from various internal departments (Finance, Scheduling, Route Planning, Service Delivery, Flight Ops Technical & Sky Cargo, etc…) as well as external sources such as fleet databases, cabin, schedule and capacity information on other carriers. • Access, run queries and produce reports from EK’s financial system POWER. • Access, run queries and produce reports from EK’s commercial systems: CBI, PROMIS and MIDT, Sabre Fleet Manager • Access, run queries and produce reports from EK’s operational systems: Story of Flight, Omega, Altea Load control • Become totally fluent and independently able to run aircraft operational costs analyses. • Evaluate/analyse the each and report findings. • Prepare period cabin and service benchmarks studies against other major carriers. • Control, evaluate and analyse, in liaison with Fleet Planning team, the Emirates aircraft long-term business plan to ensure growth and continued profitability. • Assist in proposing fleet solutions, upgrades, swaps, to the passenger service including charter services. • Produce detailed fleet reports with operational, service/cabin related or capacity information. • Provide analytical support to the Network Planning and Scheduling sections in the Planning Department. • Support the evaluation of new aircraft-selection studies. Assist Manager Fleet Planning in establishing selection criteria and prepare aircraft assessment ground rules. • Administer, develop, and improve the database on aircraft information and industry matters/issues concerning aircraft. In particular: - features of each aircraft type operated by Emirates - features of each comparable aircraft type not operated by Emirates - a database of aircraft operated by competitor airlines and market intelligence (airline strategies and financials, aircraft interior configurations and seat specification, airline alliances, environmental issues, air navigation, aviation certification/legislation, etc.) • Support activities with aircraft and engine manufacturers, including but not limited to coordination of meetings, calls, conferences, etc. • Help with Layout Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) studies and work closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimum solutions. • Produce and prepare high quality visual presentations (ppt) for Fleet Planning members and Senior Management.
Qualifications & Experience: Knowledge/skills/attitude - Must enjoy teamwork and be a team player, able to accommodate different views and perspectives. - Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision and possess strong communication skills. Must possess the ability to prepare written reports as well as presentation material. - Should be confident, assertive and possess self-drive towards the improvement of the department and self-improvement. - High degree of attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet time-critical deadlines. - Must have a high level of drive and interest towards the following subjects: aircraft, commercial aviation, airline operations, macro-economics, aircraft cabin layouts and development, database administration. Computer Skills - Required proficient use of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and familiarity with databases. - Proficient in using the internet as an effective research tool.
