Overall Purpose/Objective
Of the job
- Ensure compliance with Indirect Tax Act, Rules and various regulation’s by reviewing & assessing computations to ensure that taxes for the various SPVs/ Projects are accurately calculated and returns timely filed.
- Provide strategic analysis and advice to Senior Management of HO, Projects Head, Mall teams on various direct tax related processes so as to ensure optimum utilization of various benefits / set offs etc that might be available to the respective SPV’s / business models.
- Ensuring compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures on Indirect Tax related matters and proper follow up of systems and processes to ensure efficiency in Indirect Tax planning.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Compliances
- Maintain a tracker of all notices, letters, correspondences, appeals, refunds etc received from various Indirect Tax departments for each SPV’s.
- Co-ordinate with external consultants / tax authorities / various Projects & Operations team to ensure compliance with all tax related aspects.
- Supervising the preparation & filing of WCTDS & regular Tax returns / reports as per the provisions of the respective Acts in consultation with external consultants.
- Willing to travel ravel to various sites (operations + Projects) of the group.
- Receive / provide acknowledgement of the return / challans / notices / letters etc and ensure proper documentation, filing of record, issuance of certificates, etc.
- Ensure compliance of VAT Audit etc and manage / coordinate tax audit reports and timely processing and submission of Reports.
- Identify requirement and co-ordinate with respective Site F&A / other teams to ensure timely submission of data.
- Preparation and submission of all assessment related tax papers and information requested by consultant and tax authorities.
- Undertake periodic indirect tax planning exercises and carry out timely and comprehensive analysis of any changes in the tax framework (in consultation
- with Tax advisor, legal team, etc.) to ensure tax optimization for respective projects including GST.
- Advise on critical indirect taxation matters, tax positions / applicability thereof on certain transactions & formulate strategies for tax planning including the position under GST.
- Ensure optimum utilization of various benefits / set offs etc that might be available to the respective SPV’s.
- Co-ordination with various UFC’s, Managers and consultants etc., for operation related issues.
Audit
- Ensure adherence to the defined Audit Plan (for internal and external audits) for respective projects/ SPVs.
- Develop checklists/ formats for complying with the VAT/ST audit requirement and ensure compliance with various regulations and laws for all functional operations pertaining to respective projects.
- Ensure that all audit findings are communicated to the Senior Management in line with the defined reporting norms & that all findings/ recommendations from internal/ external audits are complied with.
MIS/ Reporting-
- Maintain a tracker of all notices, letters, correspondences etc received from various IDT departments for each SPV’s & circulate to management at monthly intervals.

- Maintain a tracker of tax payable / refunds/ appeals etc for each SPV’s to be circulated to the management as per scheduled timelines.
- Keeping track of all open issues / issues pending with external consultants / internal teams of the respective SPV’s for proper monitoring.
Statutory compliances pertaining to functional operations
- [Zero] Instances of delay in filing of tax returns/ fines imposed on account of delay in payments
- Adherence to timeline for various audits as per the relevant rules & regulations
- [Zero] Instances of statutory non-compliance / irregularities as observed in the audit finding reports
MIS/ Reports
