The WB Finance & Accounting (WFA) Vice Presidency is responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting and internal control framework for IBRD and IDA, and the extensive Trust Fund/Partnership portfolio of the WB entities. It supports an appropriate fiduciary control framework and administering disbursements for Bank lending and leads the client service function for the WBs corporate expenses.
Organizationally, WFA is comprised of three departments: (1) Corporate Accounting and Reporting, (2) Trust Funds and Loans, and (3) Financial Controls. Responsibilities
Within WFA Internal Controls team (WFARC) is responsible for:

• Managing the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program for IBRD and IDA to support management assertion and external auditor attestation.
• Coordinating the identification, assessment, management and reporting of Operational Risks in WFA.
• Facilitating the Business Continuity preparedness for WFAs time critical activities.
• Advising internal clients on effective risk mitigation and internal control practices relating to new products, systems, and processes.
  

WFARN is currently seeking a Extended Term Temporary (ETT) who will be based in Chennai and report to the Financial Officer in Chennai.
What You Will Do
The consultant will:

• Perform design and operating effectiveness testing of ICFR key controls and document test results, for assigned processes and business lines
• Leverage existing control test plans, incl. sample size and test procedures to perform testing of design and operating effectiveness of controls
• Document test results consistent with WFARC standard requirements in Wdesk tool
• Identify and communicate to WFARC Financial/ Sr. Financial Officer any control deficiencies for management remediation
• Identify and communicate to WFARC Financial/ Sr. Financial Officer any process improvement opportunities
• Support any adhoc tasks internal controls or Operational risk management, as may be assigned by WFARN Financial/ Sr. Financial Officer
• Report on status of assigned work on a regular basis (at least weekly) to WFARN Sr. Financial Officer
• Submit time sheet on weekly/ bi-monthly basis to WFARN Financial/ Sr. Financial Officer.
  

Selection Criteria
Note: Only applicants who are nationals, legal residents, or otherwise have legal presence in the duty station independent of any employer, and who are authorized to work in the duty station, will be considered.
Education & Experience

• Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant.
• Bachelors in Finance, Accounting or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 0-1 year post qualification experience.
  

Knowledge And Skills

• Previous audit/ assurance experience preferably in a Big 4 or similar public accounting firms
• 3+ years work experience in internal controls, risk management, audit/ consulting, preferably in financial industry with exposure to financial products
• Strong hands-on experience in basic technology tools (MS Office, Visual basic, Excel Macros, etc.)
• Understanding of Information Systems and IT General Controls
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
