Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Freelance SAP R2R Functional Architect to support a large-scale SAP Finance transformation initiative. This role focuses on modernizing and optimizing the Record-to-Report (R2R) landscape to enable efficient, compliant, and scalable finance operations across a complex, multi-entity environment.

The consultant will take end-to-end ownership of SAP Finance processes, functional architecture, system integrations, and deployment support, working closely with finance, audit, tax, compliance, and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Finance & R2R Configuration

• Configure and implement SAP Finance modules including General Ledger (New GL), Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Tax, and Intercompany Accounting
• Support statutory reporting, financial consolidation, and regulatory requirements
• Ensure accurate data migration, reconciliation, and cutover readiness

Integration & End-to-End Process Coverage

• Integrate R2R processes with SAP Controlling, Bank Management, Treasury, and Leasing
• 
  Ensure seamless end-to-end integration with SAP MM, SD, and PP modules
• Support integrations with non-SAP and satellite systems (e.g., POS, OMS, PSP platforms)

Architecture & Roadmap Execution

• Own the SAP Finance functional architecture across a multi-entity landscape
• Support execution of the SAP Finance roadmap and transformation initiatives
• Assess incoming demands and provide guidance on priority, feasibility, alternatives, and impact

Project Delivery & Deployment Support

• Support the full project lifecycle including solution design, localization, and configuration
• Lead and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Support go-live activities and transition to operations
• Prepare test scenarios, coordinate defect resolution, and manage retesting cycles

Collaboration & Enablement

• Collaborate with finance, audit, tax, compliance, and IT teams
• Develop functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and workflows (RICEFW)
• Identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
• Prepare end-user training materials and conduct workshops and knowledge-transfer sessions
• Support change-management activities

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

• 810+ years of hands-on SAP FI / R2R experience
• Multiple full lifecycle SAP Finance implementations
• Strong expertise in:
• General Ledger / New GL
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Asset Accounting
• Treasury and Leasing
• Intercompany Accounting
• Solid knowledge of SAP Controlling, including Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and Management Accounting
• Strong understanding of SAP Finance data models and end-to-end business processes
• Experience working in complex, multi-entity or multi-country SAP environments

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating SAP Finance with non-SAP applications
• Exposure to audit, tax, and compliance-driven SAP implementations
• Experience supporting SAP transformation or optimization programs
