Lab Head : Wildlife Genomics (Research & Academic Lead)

Location: Kolkata, Bengaluru(Occasional)

Supervises: Bioinformatics Scientist, Lab Technician, Trainees

Role summary

Lead the research & teaching program for Wildlife Genomics. The preferred candidate would lead curriculum design, instructor coaching, develop practical learning outcomes, and provide hands-on genomics training. Act as the primary academic contact for industry partners, visiting lecturers and accreditation.

- Design and update Year-1 syllabus, practicals, capstone projects and assessment rubrics.

- Hands -on training - Genome assembly, annotation, transcriptomics, population genomics

- Lead a research program to generate and handle novel genomic datasets

- Mentor and coach instructors, GTAs and lab technicians on pedagogy and student support.

- Coordinate guest lectures, industry demos and fieldwork pedagogy to enrich learning.

- Oversee trainee evaluations, grading standards and capstone project supervision.

- Drive academic collaborations, internship placements and certificate accreditation.

Required

- PhD (Genetics/Genomics/Molecular Ecology), Strong bioinformatics background needed.

- Strong scientific communication and public speaking skills.
