Tax Specialist

Tonbo Imaging is searching for a highly qualified Chartered Accountant with expertise in indirect taxation to join our team as an Indirect Taxation Specialist. This role will be pivotal in managing all aspects of indirect taxation for the company, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while optimizing tax efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of experience in indirect taxation, with a strong understanding of GST, customs duties, and other indirect tax matters.Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies to optimize the companys indirect tax position, including GST, customs duties, and other indirect taxes.Ensure compliance with all relevant indirect tax laws and regulations, including timely and accurate filing of GST returns, customs declarations, and other required documentation.Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company, providing recommendations for compliance and tax optimization.Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, procurement, and logistics, to ensure indirect tax implications are considered in business operations and transactions.Review contracts, agreements, and other documents to identify potential indirect tax implications and provide guidance on structuring transactions tax efficiently.Assist with indirect tax audits and inquiries, including preparing documentation and responding to queries from tax authorities.Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters and compliance requirements.Conduct periodic reviews and audits of indirect tax processes and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in indirect taxation and leverage this knowledge to continuously improve the companys tax processes and procedures.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Masters degree or CPA certification is a plus.Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is required.Minimum of five years of experience in indirect taxation, with a strong understanding of GST, customs duties, and other indirect tax matters.Thorough knowledge of indirect tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.Experience with indirect tax software and ERP systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
