Position Overview

The Plumbing Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, installing, and maintaining plumbing systems for residential and commercial projects. The role involves coordination with Architects, consultants, and site teams to ensure all plumbing works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and interpret plumbing design drawings (water supply, drainage, rain water, vent systems, etc.).
• Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and ensure compliance with approved designs and standards.
• Coordinate with Architects, consultants, contractors, and project managers for design clarifications and approvals.
• Prepare material Inspection report (MIR), BOQ, and raise material requisitions as per project requirements.

• Supervise installation of plumbing systems including CPVC, UPVC, SWR, GI piping, sanitary fittings, water heaters, pumps, and control valves.
• Troubleshoot site issues such as leakages, pressure drops, blockages, and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure installation meets all safety, quality, and local code requirements (NBC, IS standards).
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITP).
• Conduct pressure tests, water tightness tests, and system commissioning.
• Maintain documentation such as WIR, MIR, DPR, test reports, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with other services (HVAC, electrical, fire fighting) to avoid clashes and ensure smooth execution.
• Provide technical guidance to site supervisors and subcontractors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or relevant field.
• 4–8 years of experience in plumbing execution or design (depending on requirement).

  Get Hired
  Strong knowledge of plumbing materials, fittings, pumps, fixtures, and installation methods.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (IS codes, NBC, IPC).
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Good communication and documentation abilities.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial projects.
• Understanding of water treatment systems, STP, WTP, and rainwater harvesting.
• Ability to handle multiple sites and meet project deadlines.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
