AI Solutions Engineer

Main Purpose:

Trafigura is undergoing an exciting Digital Transformation and developing innovative technologies to change the way we work in Commodities Trading. The Document AI team is a key pillar of this initiative, unlocking the data-rich proprietary documents that pass through our firm to enable high value process optimization and data science use cases.
We are seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to grow our Document AI platform and implement code to production. You will collaborate closely with business users, deeply understanding their problems and solving them using appropriate technology. You will simultaneously use these learnings to grow our Document AI platform, developing new ideas and features to support additional use cases.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• 5-8+ years of experience working on machine learning and NLP projects .
• Strong foundation in Machine Learning
• Ability to collaborate efficiently in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
• Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in Python and application frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask)
• Strong practical experience with AWS (preference for AWS Certified Practitioners)
• Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data engineering on AWS (e.g. step functions, glue)

• Experience with microservices architectures
• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with modern software development lifecycle (CI/CD, IaC, Containerisation)

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to successfully implement new Document AI use cases
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into production code
• Serve as the primary point of contact for business users, leading meetings, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations
• Identify new opportunities and constantly improve on the Document AI platform by rapidly prototyping new features, evaluating and implementing them into production
• Example projects you might own in the first 6 months include:
  • Develop cloud engineering pipeline for processing supply chain documents
  • Implement LLM workflow to automate information extraction from domain specific documents
  • Generate credit risk reports based on analysis of proprietary documents

. You will work closely with the Digital Transformation Team to understand business requirements and rollout production-grade code to solve them.
. You will work directly with Business users in our front, middle and back offices to build trust and support their business requirements.
. You will support the Data Science & Engineering teams as a Centre of Excellence for Document AI related technology, providing support in the form of knowledge sharing and tool adoption.
