Position Overview:

An IoT Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that meet business objectives and technical requirements. The IoT Architect plays a critical role in bridging the gap between hardware, software, and networking systems to create scalable, secure, and efficient IoT ecosystems. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver innovative IoT solutions that drive operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and generate actionable insights from connected devices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Architecture Design:

• Develop comprehensive IoT architecture frameworks that integrate sensors, devices, gateways, cloud platforms, and applications.


• Define system components, data flows, and communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) to ensure seamless interoperability across devices and platforms.


• Evaluate and select appropriate IoT platforms, tools, and technologies based on project requirements.

• Lead the design and implementation of IoT solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.


• Provide guidance to development teams on coding standards, security protocols, and integration strategies.


• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Design and implement robust security measures to protect IoT systems from cyber threats, including encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.


• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).

• Design scalable architectures capable of handling large volumes of data generated by IoT devices.


• Optimize system performance through load balancing, edge computing, and efficient data processing techniques.

• Develop strategies for collecting, storing, and analyzing IoT-generated data using big data platforms and analytics tools.



• Collaborate with data scientists to derive actionable insights and build predictive models for IoT use cases.

• Work closely with product management, engineering, and operations teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.


• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

• Assess third-party vendors and partners for hardware, software, and cloud services.


• Stay updated on emerging IoT trends, technologies, and market developments to recommend innovative solutions.

• Oversee the lifecycle of IoT projects, from conceptualization to deployment and maintenance.


• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in IoT solution design, architecture, or related roles.


• Proven track record of delivering large-scale IoT projects.

• Strong knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, etc.) and communication technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G).


• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).


• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and sensor integration.
