Job Description

You will be working as a Retainer - Scriptwriter on a 6-month contract with Ubisoft, a leading developer and publisher of video games worldwide. Your main responsibility will be to create and support the narrative script, in-game and cinematic dialogue, and all other game-related texts to ensure the overall coherence of the narrative with team members from different crafts involved in game design.

Your tasks will include understanding the creative director's vision and translating it into words, developing and evolving scripts from narrative storylines and character development, collaborating with internal teams like Gameplay, Cinematics, and Audio to create a cohesive narrative experience, detailing the general story as a storyline to cover all player decisions, creating character descriptions, describing places and atmospheres, structuring dialogues based on gameplay events, writing scripts for cinematics, scripted events, in-game dialogue, and other game texts like menus and displayed texts.
You will also be responsible for reviewing scripts, read-throughs, recorded dialogues, and providing revisions based on personal assessments and feedback, providing feedback on narrative design, immediate on-set and in-booth dialogue revisions, ensuring all reference documents are up to date, collaborating in the supervision of the script with the scripted events production team, and performing any other related tasks as needed.

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and writing scripts in a high-demand media environment, with preference given to those with experience in a game development context. Additionally, you should have strong organizational skills, be inspired by people and world events, possess curiosity, and showcase creativity.
