Job Purpose:

Ownership of product strategy and long-term product roadmap for UD Trucks Middle East, East and North Africa region (MEENA).To own and drive the product management, product & technical support, homologation & type approval, competition & business intelligence, sales competence development and body builder relationship.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• To be owner for product strategy and long-term product plan for UD trucks for UD Trucks Middle East, East and North Africa Region (MEENA)
• To lead all products related projects for MEENA. Champion, Own and coordinate all new product related projects.
• Ownership of product specifications on offer for markets and solutions to technical issues.
• Ownership of the product specification for factory ordering; Supervise Importers/Sales Managers/Sales support for order key-in VSS system.
• Manage homologation and type approval activities together with UD regulation experts and UD Trucks International Sales (UDIS).
• Work with Sales Managers to provide technical recommendations for products to be offered to customers, both standard and non-standard models.
• Supervise Importer Sales Executives/Sales Managers/Product Managers to give technical support to customers and bodybuilders.

• To work with Competence Development to ensure that the necessary product training is provided to the Importers and body builders.
• Support the special product activities such as product field test, demos and marketing & sales events.
• Support and coordinate with marketing team to ensure to have updated spec sheets, brochures, websites etc.
• Ensure that markets have always the latest product material and information.
• Coordinate & Conduct field trials of new products to establish value proposition & ensure feedback to the UDIS product team and UD Trucks Technology as needed.
• Review the product performance and customers responses about products and provide feedback and recommendations from market to UDIS product team to improve products.
• Request for new products, components and options based on the market needs.
• To initiate Product Modification Requests (PMRs), follow up on progress with the concerned product groups & ensure implementation of the modifications.
• Ownership and Maintenance of Pro builder spec.
• Co-ordinate with the markets to continually update and send market and competitors product and strategy analysis.
• Support in Long Term Volume Forecast and budget estimation process as and when needed.
• Supporting the preparation for Internal BRM and partner BRM when needed.
  
  

Required Competencies:

• Bachelor s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering, or any related field.
• Min 8-10 years of Techno-commercial experience in Product Management/Product strategy / Sales Engineering areas.
• Solid experience in technical support in automotive industry (Truck Industry is preferred), Strong truck and application technical skill.

  UD Trucks product structure knowledge & UD Trucks sales system is added advantage.
• Very good in teamwork, customer focus, business oriented, motivated, and determined to reach agreed objectives.
• Excellent communication skills with appropriate language skills. Knowledge of Japanese language is an advantage.
• Good command of MS Office applications.
• Leadership, negotiating and people skills would be valuable.
