About The Role
At Ugaoo, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Executive – Finance & Accounts to join our core finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with statutory compliance, and ensuring smooth daily accounting operations. You will play a vital role in connecting financial data with our ground-level retail and fulfillment operations, ensuring tight control over cash flow, inventory, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage day-to-day accounting entries, including Accounts Payable (AP), and general ledger maintenance.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and payment gateway settlements across various e-commerce and retail channels.
- Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payouts, and maintain accurate vendor ledgers.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and reconcile data for multi-state GST filings (including regions such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Haryana).
- Assist the finance team with the preparation of working papers for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filings, ensuring accurate reconciliation between internal registers and government portals.
- Support calculations related to complex tax scenarios, including ITC tracking and necessary reversals.
- Assist with TDS deductions, challan generation, and quarterly return filings.
- Execute daily and weekly reconciliations of retail store sales, aligning digital and cash payments with internal registers.
- Support the execution of retail stock and cash audits, ensuring strict adherence to internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in maintaining accurate documentation for corporate insurance renewals across warehouse and retail locations.

- Maintain properly organized physical and digital records of all financial vouchers and invoices.
- Provide required schedules, documentation, and clarifications during internal and statutory audits.
- Assist the Finance Controller in preparing ad-hoc financial MIS reports and summaries.
- Education: B.Com or M.Com degree. CA Inter or CMA Inter dropouts with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in finance, accounting, or auditing, ideally within the retail, D2C, or e-commerce sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data reconciliation) and solid working knowledge of standard accounting software)
- Taxation Knowledge: Good practical understanding of Indian taxation, particularly GST and TDS provisions.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset. Must be comfortable coordinating with cross-functional teams, including store managers and external consultants.
