Assistant Procurement Manager - Global Spices
Schedule : Full-time
Job grade: WL1-D
Location : India
Main Job Purpose and Responsibilities:
- As a member of global Food Ingredients team, supporting the development and leading the implementation of the portfolio procurement strategy.
- Managing the portfolio, containing multiple purchase commodities directly for Spices globally
- Developing strong relationship with suppliers and analyze their capabilities to develop long term supplier strategies.
- Leading frequent global negotiations, delivering of savings and cash targets via excellent market understanding, strategy implementations, negotiation skills and application of price risk management (PRM) principles
- Implement contracts and ensuring high service levels to sourcing units across globe
- Ensuring compliance of RSP, Contracting, Quality and service in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Initiate global portfolio initiatives (e.g. 5 year value plan, ZBB, ASA/AMA, resilience, market development, market insights etc) to create more leverage globally, ensuring strong connection with the regions and MET’s.
- Support the collaboration between global suppliers and regional procurement teams to establish both short and long-term business objectives
- Support innovation projects through strong collaboration with R&D-team, providing market intelligence, supplier capabilities and capacity
- Work closely with the finance community to support the business with accurate price forecasting, including market price trends and future market trends to enable proper budgeting and price forecasting
- Continuously seeking for new opportunities and always open for improvement
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Minimal Bachelor’s Degree
- >2 years of experience in Procurement, SC functions
- Experience in Cross Functional working
- High level Business acumen and negotiation skills
- Fluent in English
- Self-starter with strong accountability, responsibility and leadership skills
- Strong on execution, have analytical skills and be pro-active
- Able to work independently and virtually
- Be result and solution oriented; be able to solve (unexpected) problems (at short notice)
- Able to build relationships with people across the business (internally & externally).
- Experience in and understanding of business processes
- Multi-level communication and being a good team player
- Strong communications skills and ability to engage and influence others
