The University of Northern Iowas Department of Accounting seeks applications for a temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor position to teach courses in Des Moines for the 2026–27 academic year. Successful candidates must demonstrate expertise in accounting and a record of effective teaching. Candidates may also have opportunities to support student engagement and outreach initiatives in the Des Moines region.
Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience and expertise in the relevant field. These courses will primarily be in-person and in Des Moines, Iowa, but may include online or hybrid.
Required Qualifications

• Master of Accountancy, MBA, or a related masters degree in the area of specialization, or a professional license or certification in accounting with significant relevant work experience that meets accrediting body standards.

• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CMA or other related professional accounting or tax credential.
• Record of excellence in teaching with evidence of a student-focused approach.
• Experience with student engagement, outreach or advising.
• Professional experience in accounting.
