Embedded Systems Engineer
:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to own the development of a robust and scalable IoT hardware platform. In this role, you will be responsible for the firmware development of our flagship IoT gateway device. You will contribute across the entire product
lifecycle, collaborating with the product team to define new features, writing and maintaining a
high-quality codebase, and supporting the manufacturing and commissioning teams work with
new customers.
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, a history of successful
electronic device development, and a solid understanding of best practices for modern firmware
Development.
Principal Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a scalable, modular, and high-performance firmware architecture to support IoT integrations with existing networks, real-time data processing, and communications with cloud infrastructure.
• Define architectural standards and ensure alignment with industry best practices and company objectives.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and hardware teams, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the companys products.
• Develop ancillary tools and features as needed, to optimize manufacturing and commissioning workflows.
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree.
• 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of firmware development in C.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems and associated design patterns.
• Experience in maintaining an existing product or platform.

Desirable Qualifications

• Prior work with the BACnet building automation protocol.
• Familiarity with other IoT protocols such as Modbus, LoRaWAN, or MQTT, especially in the context of device integration with cloud platforms.
• Experience with the Espressif ESP32 development framework.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools for automation and deployment.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test systems.
