Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Officer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant food regulations and standards in India. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Regulatory Compliance:Stay abreast of all pertinent regulations and standards concerning the Indian food industry, encompassing food safety, labeling, packaging, and ingredient specifications.Interpret and disseminate regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders, such as management, R&D teams, and production staff.Conduct routine audits and assessments to pinpoint areas of non-compliance and execute remedial measures as necessary.Permits and Certification:Procure requisite permits and certifications for the manufacturing, distribution, and retailing of food products, both domestically and for import / export.Expertise in managing the entire lifecycle of licensing and registration applications, from initial submission to approval, including tracking application status, responding to queries from regulatory authorities, and addressing any deficiencies or issues identified during the review process.Foster communication with regulatory agencies and certification bodies to facilitate the application process and ensure expeditious approval.Product Labeling and Packaging:Be certain that all product labels comply with all legal requirements, including ingredient lists, nutritional data, allergen notifications, and any mandatory labeling requirements.Examine package materials closely to make sure that they meet safety and food contact regulations.Work closely with the packaging and design teams to create packaging and labeling that complies with regulations.Documentation and Recordkeeping:Ensure that all regulatory documentation, such as licenses, certificates, product registrations, and compliance reports, are kept accurate and up to date.Compile and submit regulatory reports and files in accordance with regulatory bodies requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:Masters degree in food science, technology, biology, chemistry, or a related field.Profound familiarity with Indian food regulations and standards, including FSSAI regulationsDemonstrated track record of successfully managing the licensing and registration process under FSSAI, including preparing applications, gathering required documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.Keen attention to detail with robust analytical and problem-solving acumen.Ability to function autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.Proficiency in MS Office and regulatory compliance portals.
