Job Description
Role Overview
- We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development to drive new client acquisition for our recruitment and talent solutions business.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and acquiring startup and growth-stage companies that require hiring support across technology, product, operations, sales, and leadership functions.
- This role is focused on generating new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and expanding our recruitment partnerships across the startup ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
New Client Acquisition:
- Identify and target startups, scale-ups, and high-growth companies with active hiring requirements.
- Generate qualified leads through LinkedIn, cold outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, and market research.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand hiring needs, recruitment challenges, and workforce planning requirements.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline of prospective clients.
Business Development & Sales
- Present staffing and recruitment solutions to founders, HR leaders, hiring managers, and business stakeholders.
- Prepare proposals, commercial agreements, and service presentations.
- Negotiate terms and close recruitment partnership agreements.
- Consistently achieve monthly and quarterly client acquisition targets.
Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with startup founders, HR teams, and business leaders.
- Act as a trusted hiring partner and advisor to clients.
- Identify opportunities for account growth, repeat business, and strategic hiring partnerships.
Market Intelligence
- Stay updated on startup funding activities, hiring trends, and talent market insights.
- Track competitor offerings, pricing models, and recruitment industry trends.
- Provide market feedback to internal recruitment and leadership teams.
Collaboration with Recruitment Team
- Work closely with recruiters to ensure smooth delivery of client requirements.
- Facilitate requirement gathering, kickoff meetings, and hiring strategy discussions.
- Monitor client satisfaction and support successful closures.
Reporting & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate records of leads, meetings, opportunities, and client interactions in CRM systems.
- Track sales metrics including lead conversion, meetings conducted, proposals shared, and revenue generated.
- Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.
Required Skills & Experience:

- 2-14 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, staffing sales, recruitment consulting, or HR solutions sales.
- Proven track record of acquiring new clients and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, staffing, RPO, or talent acquisition services.
- Experience engaging with startup founders, HR leaders, and decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, HR, or a related field.
- Experience selling recruitment, staffing, RPO, executive search, or HR technology solutions.
- Existing network within the startup ecosystem is an added advantage.
