Head - Procurement - Aerospace & Defense

Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Procurement Head to lead end-to-end sourcing, vendor strategy, and supply chain operations for our Aerospace & Dfense business. This role requires deep domain expertise, strong vendor networks, and experience in handling compliance-heavy procurement environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement strategy for Aerospace & Dfense projects
- Develop and manage a robust vendor ecosystem (OEMs, Tier 1/2 suppliers, global vendors)
- Drive strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and contract negotiations
- Ensure compliance with defence procurement policies, regulatory standards, and quality norms
- Manage RFQs, RFPs, bidding processes, and contract finalization
- Collaborate with Engineering, Program, and Finance teams for seamless execution
- Oversee supply chain planning, inventory optimization, and risk mitigation

- Drive localization and vendor development initiatives (Make in India focus)
- Establish procurement KPIs and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets
- Handle audits, documentation, and vendor performance management
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace preferred) + MBA (preferred)
- 10-15+ years of experience in Aerospace & Dfense procurement/strategic sourcing
- Strong understanding of defence procurement procedures, government tenders, and compliance frameworks
- Established network with OEMs, defence suppliers, and global vendors
- Proven experience in handling large-scale, high-value contracts
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with high ownership
Good to Have
- Experience working with defence PSUs / DRDO / ISRO / global aerospace firms
- Exposure to import/export regulations and international procurement
- Knowledge of offset policies and defence contracting
