Infrastructure Engineer (6months Contract)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Operating Systems: Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) administration.
• Virtualization: Expertise in Hyper-V (clusters, VM management, live migration, failover, high availability).
• Patch Management: Proven experience using Jetpatch (or equivalent: WSUS, SCCM) for OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance tracking.
  
• Scripting & Automation: Proficient in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automating system tasks, diagnostics, and configuration management. Storage & Backup: Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage, iSCSI, and backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault). Process & Methodology: Knowledge with ITIL-based processes (Incident, Change).
• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure support or systems administration.
• Provide L2-level support for enterprise compute environments across on-premises and hybrid infrastructures.
• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Manage Hyper-V clusters and virtual machines, including provisioning, migration, backup, and high-availability configurations.
• Execute and monitor OS patching and vulnerability remediation using Jetpatch, with coordination across teams. Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents; perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.

  Collaborate with networking, storage, backup, security, and cloud teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
• Develop and maintain automated scripts (PowerShell/Bash) to streamline routine operations and reduce manual effort.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation, including runbooks, system diagrams, and change logs.
• Follow ITIL-compliant processes for change, incident management. Support compliance audits by providing evidence of configurations, patching records, and access controls.
• Assist in cross-functional projects involving infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or platform modernization.
