- Role Overview:
As an innovative and accomplished engineering leader, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the strategic and operational direction of the India development team at Vertafore. Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, product, and business units, you will design scalable and resilient solutions for enterprise platforms and strategic partners. Your strong leadership, technical expertise, and people management skills will be essential in delivering high-quality results and enforcing essential processes. You will lead multiple engineering teams to develop software solutions that align with business goals and promote a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software developers and engineers.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Project & Delivery Management
- Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and other stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and priorities.
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of software releases.
- Oversee sprint planning, execution, delivery, and retrospectives.
- Technical Leadership
- Guide the team in adopting best practices in coding, testing, and architecture.
- Drive technical initiatives such as code reviews, design reviews, and system improvements.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential use.
- Process & Collaboration
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum and product-tailored methodologies.
- Improve development processes, tooling, and workflows to maximize productivity and quality.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals.
- People & Culture
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent.
- Build a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can thrive.
- Recognize and celebrate team achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 14+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/management role.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams in enterprise or SaaS product environments.

- Strong expertise in .NET full-stack development (C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, Rest API, MVC, Blazor/Angular/React).
- Deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience in designing architecture for enterprise applications and utilizing multiple design patterns.
- Experience in security best practices for software and data platforms.
- Understanding or knowledge of AWS cloud technologies (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps practices.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Universe DB, Mango DB, etc.).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to balance technical depth with business acumen.,
