Connected CE Mendix Developer

Vertiv is focusing on overhauling the technology landscape of the Service business by rewriting the application ecosystem needed for our Customer Engineer activities for pre-visit, during the visit, and post-visit activities on the field.

This role is part of the CoE application area with the goal of implementing bugfixes and enhancements to the Connected CE application with dedicated skills to the Mendix platform. It will also mentorship the Business side developers.

Context and activities are international and global in scope, with the need to engage with diverse global functions and cultures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(List the major or most important job duties in order of most important to least important.)

The main job duties:

• Mendix Expertise: Utilize advanced knowledge of Mendix Studio Pro and Mendix Runtime to develop and enhance applications.
• Navigation Profiles: Understand and implement various Mendix navigation profiles, including Responsive, Native and Responsive Offline (PWA).
• Application Lifecycle: Oversee and support the application throughout its entire lifecycle, from development to deployment and beyond.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of quality and consistency in application development and performance.
• Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and optimize application quality and performance metrics.
• Integration: Work with integration protocols (REST, ODATA, SOAP, etc.) and have experience integrating Mendix applications with external apps and services.
• Front-End Development: Leverage HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design and implement user-friendly interfaces.
• Database Management: Experience in working with databases and data modeling to support application functionality.
• Custom Development: Develop custom logic, widgets, themes, and modules tailored to Mendix applications.
• SSO Implementation: Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions to enhance user authentication and access control.
• 
  Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application development processes, integration points, and user guides to ensure clarity and continuity.
• Vendor Interaction: Collaborate and coordinate with external vendors to ensure seamless integration, resolve issues, and align on project goals and deliverables.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Deployment Management: Manage the deployment process and CI/CD pipelines using Mendix to ensure smooth and efficient releases.

Debugging and Bug Fixing: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs and issues, ensuring smooth functionality and optimal performance.

Mentoring: Guide and support team members by sharing knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required.)

• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Excellent knowledge of the Mendix low-code-no-code platform
• Good knowledge of web services, RESTful principles, and an understanding of microservices
• Good knowledge of interfaces to third-party systems (ERP, CMS, etc.)
• Good knowledge of React-Native
• Good knowledge of Native app technologies
• Good knowledge of IT applications architecture
• Good knowledge of Jira
• Basic knowledge of ITSM processes
• Basic knowledge of IT infrastructures

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:(The minimum education, certification, special training and years of experience required to do a satisfactory job.)

• Preferred Master/Bachelors degree with preference for Information Systems or Computer Science as field of study
• 5+ years of experience in the development of web applications using JavaScript, HTML/CSS and server-side frameworks
• 4+ years of experience on the Mendix platform
• Mendix Advanced Developer Certification
