Job Description
- As a Test Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for designing and implementing test plans for ETL processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data. Your role will involve developing automated test scripts using Python or R for data validation and reconciliation. You will also be conducting source-to-target data verification, transformation logic testing, and regression testing.
Collaboration with data engineers and analysts is a key aspect of this role, as you will work closely with them to understand business requirements and data flows. Your responsibilities will include identifying data anomalies and working with development teams to resolve any issues that may arise. Additionally, you will be maintaining test documentation, such as test cases, test results, and defect logs.
Participation in performance testing and optimization of data pipelines is also part of your role. You should have strong experience in ETL testing across various data sources and targets, proficiency in Python or R for scripting and automation, and a solid understanding of SQL and relational databases. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools like Power BI, QlikView, Informatica, Talend, and SSIS is required. Experience with test management tools such as JIRA and TestRail, as well as knowledge of data profiling, data quality frameworks, and validation techniques, are also important.
