Equity Research Head / Investment Advisor Role

· Equity Research Head / Equity Investment Advisor (Post Graduate in Finance, Cleared NISM XA and NISM XB) – Fundamental Research (Full Time Role) - 4 days work from office (Nariman Point, Mumbai) and 1 day in the week work-from-home in Mumbai.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Take sector calls on the right time to invest based on data provided by Analysts / Associates

· Tracking and Researching companies and supporting model validation by Analysts / Associates

· Managing a team of 2 research Analysts / Associates, to deliver weekly investment strategies and best picks on stocks under coverage.

· Sharing the research with clients in quarterly call. Clear understanding of markets to explain portfolio performance from fundamental perspective.

· Work closely with the Business Development Manager to support pitching new investment ideas to the client. Attend client meetings / calls to resolve queries on portfolio performance, stock related performance.

· Aligned with fundamental research methodology – in Porter’s Five Forces, Moat Methodology and looking at return metrics – before investing in a company.

· Deep industry research capability across sectors like banking, financial services, pharma, consumer, IT and technology. Researching Indian and International companies across sectors. 

· Strong modelling and analytical skills. Oversee analysts who are attending conference calls, maintaining DCF models for each company, updating them each quarter. Working independently to form a view on a company, deliver models and take appropriate action for client portfolios.

· Good written and oral communication skills and ability to take client and prospect meetings. Writing Notes for IPOs, quarterly earnings of portfolio and research companies, monthly newsletters for clients, present to an audience of 50 prospects.

· Ability to work independently with limited guidance or day-to-day oversight.

· Ability to work in a high-pressure environment. Ability to multi-task and work with a Can-Do attitude to take up multi-functional roles. Strong ethics and integrity.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

· NISM Exam cleared in Advisory XA and XB, or Research Analyst Exam.

· 5-6 Years in equity research team of buy side broking / investment firm

· Post-Graduate degree in financial management/ equity markets compulsory – BSE Institute Course is acceptable

· Present Location Required to be: Mumbai

· Chartered Accountants (CA) are not eligible for this position. CFA, CFP, NISM Post-graduate program of 1 year and other are eligible.

· NISM Exam cleared in Mutual Fund Research, beneficial

Additional Requirements:

• Understanding of Indian Capital Markets

• Knowledge of broking, operations knowledge, risk profiling of client along with technical and fundamental understanding.

• In-depth knowledge of Stocks, Bonds, Mutual funds.

• Coordination with different department (RMS, Risk, Compliance, Sales) for smooth processing of client requests / transactions.

• Communicating trading calls and investing Ideas to customers.

• Ability to advise the clients from time to time based on the research calls.

• Thorough knowledge of all exchange rules, regulations and compliances.

• Identify new streams for revenue and maintain cordial relationship with existing clients.

• Achieve laid down target with respect to Revenue Generation and Client Activation.

Office Timings: Monday to Friday (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) – Occasional Saturdays for pending work, client meetings.
