Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst - Aviation / Airlines SME.
Location: Remote.
Shift: 6.30PM IST to 3.30AM IST.
Experience: 8-12 years.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst (BA) with Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Aviation/Airlines domain to join our team.
The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, and proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for aviation/airline applications.
This role requires working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and end users to design and deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for aviation/airline processes such as:
Flight Operations.
Crew Management.
Reservations & Ticketing.
Departure Control Systems (DCS).


Revenue Management & Accounting.
Loyalty Programs (FFP).
Ground Operations and Baggage Handling.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and developers to ensure requirements are accurately translated into solutions.
- Conduct gap analysis, process mapping, and workflow improvements in aviation operations.
- Support UAT planning and execution, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Develop and maintain BRD, FRD, Use Cases, and process documentation.
- Provide domain expertise during solution design, implementation, and post-go-live support.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (IATA, ICAO, DGCA, FAA, etc.
- Track and report project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8-12 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 5+ years in Aviation/Airlines domain.

- Strong knowledge of airline industry processes, systems, and standards.
- Hands-on experience with reservation systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Navitaire, etc.), DCS, or crew management systems.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques, business process modeling (BPMN/UML), and documentation.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with airline IT systems, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) systems, or flight scheduling platforms.
- Familiarity with aviation safety and compliance requirements.
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or IIBA accreditation.
- Experience in digital transformation or modernization projects in aviation.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
