Systems Operations Manager

About this role:

CT is currently looking for a Systems Operations Manager to join our high performing team. Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing a comprehensive monitoring solution that will be leveraged by Platform team. Provides technical systems support within a technology organization. Duties are varied and may include one or more of the following: provides support for highly complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems and other technical products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a Systems Operations team of analysts that monitor installed systems and infrastructure

• Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Systems Operations functional area.

• Work with management and internal team to build a high touch Mission Control Team in Chennai.

• Work with horizontal platform Teams to bring down alert noise and increase resolution steps in alert runbook.

• Identify and recommend opportunities within Systems Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks.

• Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives.

• Interpret and develop policies and procedures and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area.

• Collaborate and consult with analysts, Information Technology personnel, or vendors.

• Manage mid to highly experienced analysts.

• Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations.

  

• Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 2+ years of Leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or Engineering or Related Field.
• Total experience of 10+ years with proven Technical Expertise with one or more of the following:
  • Technical: Unix/Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, Batch Autosys, Quartz, Windows Scheduler
  • Observability: BigPanda, AppD, Splunk and JIRA, Prometheus, Elastic, Mainframe
  • Work Management: Jira, Confluence
  • Operations Tools: ServiceNow, BigPanda
  • OS and Platform: Windows, Linux, PCF
  • Having fundamentals of ITIL Framework (Incident, Problem and Change management).
• Familiarity with large scale distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
• Good to have skills on middleware support for Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, IIS, WebSphere, Weblogic.
• Fluency in English and at least one regional language.
