Role Overview
The Head of Treasury - Front Office will focus on foreign exchange risk management, investment management, liquidity optimization, funding strategy, and financial risk management. The role will be responsible for optimizing cash and capital allocation, driving treasury initiatives aligned with business objectives, and ensuring compliances. This position reports to the Group Treasurer.
Key Responsibilities
a) Treasury & Market Risk Management:
- Lead and execute foreign exchange risk management strategies to mitigate currency exposures and optimize hedging outcomes.
- Manage investment of surplus funds across fixed-income and other approved instruments to outperform benchmark while maintaining liquidity and capital preservation.
- Understand the manage credit risk in investment book.
- Support commodity risk management initiatives, where applicable.
b) Liquidity & Cash Management:
- Work with mid-office on liquidity planning and cash flow forecasting.
- Drive efficient deployment of surplus funds and ensure adequate liquidity to support business operations.

Corporate Finance & Funding:
- Support in evaluation of financing alternatives and strategic business investments, acquisitions, and capital allocation decisions.
- Contribute to budgeting of treasury income, funding costs, and financial planning initiatives.
d) Banking Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international banking partners.
- Leverage banking relationships and thought leaders for market insights and treasury best practices.
e) FEMA & Regulatory Coordination:
- Partner with internal Finance, Tax, Legal, and Compliance teams to facilitate adherence to FEMA regulations, RBI guidelines, and other applicable treasury-related regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA (Finance) / CA / CMA / CFA or equivalent professional qualification.
- 15+ years of experience in Corporate Treasury, Banking, Financial Markets, or Investment Management.
- Proven expertise in Forex Management, Fixed Income Investments, Cash Management, and Funding Strategies.
- Knowledge of accounting standards applicable to treasury operations.
- Sound understanding of FEMA regulations, RBI guidelines, and treasury-related compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, team management, and leadership skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Good to Have:
- Understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow drivers with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic actions.
- Experience partnering with business leaders on profitability improvement, working capital management, and capital allocation decisions.
- Exposure to ERP and Treasury Management Systems and implementation.
- Exposure to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modelling.
- Oversee the organization's corporate insurance portfolio, including property, liability, marine, and other risk covers.
- Partner with brokers and insurers to ensure adequate coverage and competitive pricing.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in large corporates, multinational organizations, banks, mutual funds, insurance companies, or NBFCs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with a strategic and solution-oriented mindset.
