About The Team
The workday Data Platform Engineering Organization in Business Technology needs engineers to architect and build next generation of data platform, tooling, The Workday Data Platform Engineering Organization in Business Technology needs engineers to architect and build the next generation of data platform, tooling, reusable frameworks and services in the AWS cloud. We take pride in enabling data driven business outcomes to mobilize Workday’s growth through trusted data excellence, innovation and architecture thought leadership. The teams key objective is to empower data engineers, statisticians, data scientists, and various business partners by building scalable data platforms, tooling/reusable frameworks, data quality and anomaly detection framework to fuel potential, reducing decision latency using self-service architecture in cloud environments.
Data platform will be the central data repository with various data domain assets of decision-making process through self-service dashboards, domain specific ad-hoc self-self-capability. Also, it will be source for ML engineering self-service business owned pipelines through configurable templates, storage for ML features and model outcomes, place for test and training the models, upstream and downstream integration layer or data source for these layers.
About The Role
We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about solving exciting problems by doing independent research, collaborating with data engineers, with extensive experience in delivering big data platforms and scalable data pipelines in the public cloud. You’ll be working on platform tooling/capabilities or reusable frameworks which focus on efficiency, scalability, expandability, flexibility, all with the goal to help empower teams.
As a key player of the data platform team, our team will architect and craft the data platform to empower and implement data applications, including data ingestion framework, Data Observability, Data Quality, Anomaly detection, Data Lake/Data warehouse, business intelligence, APIs and reporting systems. The team will improve data platform performance and reliability, and opportunities to collaborate with industry standard innovative technology partners and authorities to improve efficiency through automation.
This hands-on role focuses on implementing data platform vision, planning and carrying out the roadmap to enable platform capabilities
Responsibilities

• Collaborating across Collibra’s Support and Engineering teams to understand the issues and help narrowing down the unclear functional requirements
• Collaborate with business and partner teams to establish data governance framework, data catalog, and lineage, to ensure privacy compliance. Work closely with data engineers and data architects to implement data quality solutions within data pipelines and data warehouses.
• Enhance the data governance platform (e.g. data quality, metadata, process management)
• Collaborate with other team members to configure, implement and provide on-going maintenance support for Collibra
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Collibra-related issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Ability to work with a team of engineers to build, implement and commercialize a data analysis platform that manages tools including Collibra, Airflow, Snaplogic, Redshift, EMR and Databricks
• 
  Ability to analyze and troubleshoot unexpected system pathologies
• Demonstrated capability to innovate with minimum supervision
• Understanding of process, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Build and test Data Ingestion, transformation and data quality frameworks in Realtime and Batch
• Keep abreast of new tools, packages while consistently pushing the limit of what is possible to deliver the best solutions
• Willing to work across multiple time zones
• Owning and performing thorough, meaningful and balance reviews, tailers code review comments – useful for the receivers, continuous measurable improvement through reducing deployment bugs
• Contribution to the documentation, release notes, documentation reviews to guide others and improve their performance
• Keeping security for both data in transit and data at rest, and compliance (PII, PCI, CCPA, SOX, GDPR etc.) in mind
• Understanding of available resources while designing the solution, ability to reuse the resources to build scalable solution
  

About You
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or directly related experience
• 2+ years experience in configuring and supporting Collibra or other Metadata / Data Governance tool (s)
• 4+ years of technology industry experience developing cloud services, using data platform services is a big plus
• Hands-on experience in application support of Collibra platform for data catalog, preferably in Application Admin. Roles

  Get Hired
• Experience on any of these cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), preferred : AWS
• Experience in configuration and connection to various data sources like AWS Datalake, DB2, Databricks etc
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions
• Proficient in Spark or Databricks, Redshift or BigQuery
• Knowledge of developing low latency data processing solutions like AWS Kinesis, Kafka, Spark Stream processing.
• Highly proficient in SQL.
  

Other Qualifications:

• Experience with DevOps/SecOps pipelines , git and CI/CD implementations.
• Terraform and experience (is a plus)
• Knowledge with fine grained access control - ACL (is a plus)
