BACKGROUND AND UNIT SUMMARY
HR Operations (HRDSO), which is part of HR Employment Policy, Compensation and Systems, currently operates in Washington, DC, and Chennai, India.
HRDSO provides centralized HR shared services to the World Bank Group and is an integral component of streamlined HR service delivery to its client base, which includes managers, staff, dependents, and retirees. To this end, the Operations Team is continually seeking to improve the way HR Services are delivered to clients. These services include being the front line for providing consultation on HR policies and procedures via telephone, email, or virtual consultations, as well as administration of HR transactions. The team collaborates closely with other key partners, including Payroll, Tax, Global Mobility, Information Technology, and the wider HR community.
To ensure effective use of HR data for evidence-based decision making, strategic planning, and operational efficiency, the HR Analytics Unit is mandated with the following work program.
The Team is responsible for managing and analyzing workforce data, developing dashboards and reports, and providing actionable insights to HR and business leaders. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, interpreting HR metrics, and supporting data-driven initiatives across the organization.
With the growing demand for data-informed HR strategies and the evolution of data visualization and analytics tools, this team plays a critical role in enabling better workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.
The HR Analyst reports to the Program Manager, HR Data Management & Technology in HR Operations, and will join a team of HR data professionals. The team collaborates across departments to ensure robust analytical, deliver meaningful insights, and support continuous improvement of HR processes through analytics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will have the following duties and accountabilities:
Standardize and maintain large datasets using key HR systems for research and analysis.
Assist in generating insights from analysis, creating solutions and engineering data to measure the effectiveness of HR programs, interventions and efforts of the organization.
Support senior team leads with research using statistical analyses (e.g., correlations, regressions) to develop trends and identify program effectiveness; form testable statements generated from inductive reasoning that can be verified through statistical and analytical means.
Partake in the development of policy and support engagement strategies using quantitative and qualitative analytics and working with multiple data sources to assist the team derive on evidence-based recommendations.
Provide analytical support to the HR Policy unit by helping evaluate policy effectiveness, monitoring key workforce indicators, and preparing evidence-based inputs for policy reviews and revisions.
Contribute to the design of HR policy frameworks by integrating external benchmarks, internal workforce data, and trend analysis in collaboration with the HR Policy team.
Designs innovative and customized reports on the basis of assessed clients need to fill information gaps and enable strategic decision making.
Conducts general research, data exploration and basic interpretation of data, provides information regarding staffing issues and prepares summary reports and presentations as needed.
Support in obtaining and creating reports in reporting tools for operational controls.
Gather requirements, design and develop new reports or existing report enhancements in BI Tools.
Troubleshoots and problem-solves data issues when they arise and develops quality assurance practices to catch and resolve issues.
Prepares data requests and performs analyses that facilitate data integrity.
Business Partnership: Establishes a liaison relationship with business partners in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
Gathers, analyzes, and documents business requirements, functional requirements, and data specifications for dash boarding and other business reporting needs in support of strategic objectives.
Handles team-wide data requests.
Selection Criteria
Masters degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.in Human Resources, Finance, Business , Data Analytics, or a similar field

Proficiency in all HR Systems and Microsoft Windows applications, namely Excel, Word and Power Point, including lookup tables, manipulation, and analysis skills
Knowledge/experience of core HR areas: compensation/benefits; strategic staffing, learning and training; performance management, career development, staffing and recruitment, and case management will be a plus.
Able to "roll up sleeves"; has the flexibility to engage in all aspects of HR work, from identification of issues to implementation of solutions
Strong oral and written communications and presentation skills, ability to translate complex data for a variety of audiences, and experience with preparing client-ready materials
Strong quality control orientation; attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
Ability to build strong working relationships with counterparts across Human Resources Department and the World Bank Group.
Knowledge/Experience in change management and user training, with skills in creating user guides and technical documentation.
Knowledge in analytical/reporting skills (e.g., Power BI, statistical tools).
Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
