Job Description
Role Overview:
This role is pivotal in driving market penetration and sales growth within the General Trade channel across Nigeria. The Sales Executive will be responsible for executing sales strategies, managing distributor relationships, and ensuring optimal product availability and visibility in retail outlets. Day-to-day, this involves extensive field work, engaging directly with distributors and retailers, identifying new sales opportunities, and ensuring merchandising standards are met. You will work closely with internal sales and marketing teams, as well as external partners, to achieve ambitious sales targets and expand our brand footprint. This position directly impacts our revenue generation, market share expansion, and the overall success of our brands in a highly competitive FMCG landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and distribution objectives for designated territories, contributing directly to the company's revenue growth.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the General Trade channel, expanding market reach and brand presence.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies and ensure optimal product display, pricing, and promotional execution at the point of sale to enhance visibility and drive consumer purchase.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights, providing timely and actionable feedback to the sales and marketing teams for strategic adjustments.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and market intelligence to management, enabling informed decision-making and performance tracking.

- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve and surpass sales targets within the FMCG sector, particularly in the General Trade channel in Nigeria.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities to build and nurture robust business relationships.
- Proficient in market analysis, territory management, and developing effective sales strategies tailored to diverse market conditions.
- A Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- Possesses a high degree of self-motivation, resilience, and the capacity to work independently in a dynamic, field-based environment.
- A minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years of progressive experience in FMCG sales, with a significant focus on General Trade operations.
