Job Description
Responsibilities
- Assist anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in the preparation and application of anesthesia for surgical and medical procedures
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring all tools are sterilized and functioning properly
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist in the assessment of patients before, during, and after anesthesia
- Ensure accurate documentation of anesthesia procedures and patient responses in medical records
- Provide support in the management of anesthesia recovery and address any complications under supervision
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams to ensure a seamless surgical process and optimal patient care
- Maintain an organized and efficient anesthesia workspace, replenishing supplies and equipment as necessary
- Stay updated with advancements in anesthesia technology and procedures through continuous education and training
Required Qualifications - Diploma or degree in anesthesia technology or a related field
- Certification as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred
- Demonstrable experience in a clinical healthcare setting, particularly in anesthesia or surgery
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anesthesia techniques
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with medical staff and patients
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and handle emergencies with composure
