Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Team Lead / Manager – Property Accounting to lead and scale a high-performing offshore accounting team supporting USbased real estate clients. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, people leadership, and client-facing capabilities. The ideal candidate will oversee end-to-end property accounting operations, ensure accuracy and compliance, drive process excellence, and act as the primary point of contact between clients and the offshore team. This role is critical to maintaining service quality, developing talent, and ensuring seamless delivery from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of property accountants supporting multiple real estate portfolios.

Own end-to-end delivery of property accounting functions including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, CAM reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Review and approve financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting schedules before client submission.

Act as the primary escalation point for client queries, complex accounting issues, and operational challenges.

Build strong client relationships and ensure service levels, turnaround times, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.

Drive standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. Monitor team performance using KPIs, SLAs, and quality metrics.

Lead onboarding, training, and continuous development of new hires.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (HR, L&D, Delivery, Leadership) to scale teams effectively. Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and client-specific accounting policies.

Identify automation and efficiency opportunities across workflows and reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters/CA/CPA preferred).

7+ years of experience in property accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or team management role.

Strong experience in US real estate accounting (commercial, multifamily, retail, or mixed-use portfolios).

Hands-on experience with property management systems such as Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, RealPage, or similar platforms.

Deep understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and scale offshore teams.

Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

High attention to detail with strong quality orientation.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
