The Impact Youll Make in this Role

As a Product Taxonomist at 3M, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Responsible for the design and management of 3Ms product taxonomy (Global Product Hierarchy). This includes the structure itself, the attribution schema, and associated metadata.
• Helping to manage and deliver on key schema definition projects, prioritized by 3M business stakeholders and supporting related taxonomies and hierarchies.
• Engaging with 3Ms divisional marketers and application engineers for strategic input and requirements gathering.
• Implementing changes to internal processes on behalf of the team and supporting governance policies & principles.
• Determining/identifying opportunities for optimization within the organization as well as process improvements for the business users as it relates to data management.
• Willingness to assist different teams across the business that may be looking for guidance or project support related to the GPH or related hierarchies.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Information Systems, Library Science, or a related field.
• Overall, 6 to 9 years of experience, including hands-on experience working with Product Information Management (PIM), Master Data Management (MDM), Content Management System (CMS), and/or Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience working with Hybris Backoffice and/or Informatica P360 to support product content, taxonomy, and data management activities.
• Proven ability to translate insights into action and leverage technology to accelerate and improve content operations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders, including senior management, supported by in-depth knowledge of 3Ms structure, organization, and cross-functional business environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, best practices, educating others, and solving complex business problems effectively.
