Role Overview:

We are hiring an AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and ship production-grade ML systems and agentic workflows across the 5paisa platform. You will own use cases end-to-end — from problem framing with business stakeholders, to model development, to deploying agents and ML services that handle real customer and market data at scale. Expect to work on problems like personalized investor recommendations, conversational research assistants, fraud and risk signals, document understanding for KYC and operations, and LLM-powered internal copilots for our support and operations teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable training a model, writing clean Python, and reasoning about how an agent will behave in production with real users and real money on the line.

What Youll Do

• Translate ambiguous business problems from product, trading, risk, and operations teams into well-scoped ML or agent solutions, and own them from prototype to production.

• Build and deploy classical ML and deep learning models for use cases including recommendation, classification, ranking, forecasting, anomaly detection, and NLP over financial and customer data.

• Design and ship LLM-powered agents — including tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-step planning, evaluation harnesses, and guardrails — that interact with internal systems, market data, and customer-facing surfaces.

• Write production-quality Python: clean, tested, observable services and pipelines that integrate with our data platform, feature store, and downstream applications.

• Partner with MLOps and platform engineering to operationalize models and agents — model packaging, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, and cost and latency optimization.

• Run rigorous offline and online evaluations (A/B tests, backtests, human-in-the-loop reviews) and use the results to iterate on prompts, models, retrieval, and tool design.

• Stay close to the research frontier on LLMs, agents, and applied ML, and bring relevant ideas back into our roadmap with a clear view on cost, risk, and customer impact.

• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, designers, compliance, and risk to ensure solutions are safe, explainable, and aligned with regulatory expectations in Indian financial services.

What Were Looking For

• 2–5 years of experience as an ML Engineer, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, or Python Developer

• Strong programming skills in Python with experience building scalable applications and services

• Experience building and deploying LLM-based applications including prompt engineering, RAG, tool calling, and production deployments

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in fintech, capital markets, wealth management, or broking platforms

• Exposure to MLOps tools such as MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Airflow, or Kubeflow

Work Setup

This is a full-time, work-from-office role based at our Bangalore office. We believe highbandwidth, in-person collaboration is the fastest way to build great AI products in our current stage.
