Job Context:

With the establishment of the 1.5 KTPA PV Ribbon Pilot Plant at the Alloy Plant, the role of the DMT – Operations & Maintenance is critical to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment while supporting the organization's early entry into the rapidly growing solar PV market.

DMT Operators will be responsible for operating and maintaining plant equipment, monitoring process parameters, maintaining product quality, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Their contribution will be essential in accelerating the learning curve, stabilizing plant operations, developing operational best practices, and building capabilities required for future capacity expansion and seamless integration with the proposed large-scale PV Ribbon manufacturing facility.

• Ensure safe operation and maintenance of DMT equipment by complying with SOPs, work permit systems, LOTO procedures, and all plant safety requirements. 
• Participate in MOC, HIRA, PSSR, and other safety assessments whenever process, equipment, or operational changes are introduced. 
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, equipment abnormalities, and potential hazards, and support timely corrective actions. 
• Follow environmental, statutory, and company requirements related to waste handling, emissions control, and workplace housekeeping. 
• Support implementation of preventive actions to mitigate operational, occupational health, and process-related risks. 
• Contribute to Kaizen, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, productivity, and sustainability. 
• Maintain assigned work areas, equipment, and utilities as per 5S standards and good housekeeping practices. 
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of chemicals, lubricants, tools, and maintenance materials to prevent incidents and equipment damage. 
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, EHS, and quality teams to ensure safe and uninterrupted plant operations. 
• Follow all safety standards and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, equipment failures, and environmental incidents.

• Operate and monitor DMT equipment to achieve daily production, quality, and efficiency targets while adhering to defined process parameters and SOPs. 
• Identify process and equipment abnormalities, perform basic troubleshooting, and support corrective actions to minimize downtime and quality deviations. 
• Execute routine inspection, operation, and maintenance activities, ensuring optimum utilization of materials, utilities, and machines. 
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through KPI monitoring, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to enhance plant performance.
• Define Model areas / machines devoid of unwanted items and make abnormality Identification (8 types) & redressal as a continuous process in all DMTs (5S & Kaizen).

• Support continuous improvement initiatives through Kaizen, RCA, OPL, and other problem-solving tools to enhance equipment reliability and process performance. 
• Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies, losses, and non-value-added activities to improve productivity and cost effectiveness. 
• Optimize machine performance, resource utilization, and operating practices to achieve higher efficiency and quality output. 
• Minimize changeover and restoration time by following standard procedures and ensuring quick recovery of normal operating conditions after maintenance or process interruptions.

• Monitor and control DMT process parameters, equipment conditions, and utility systems to ensure safe, stable, and efficient plant operations, taking immediate corrective actions for any deviations. 
• Ensure achievement of production, quality, yield, and equipment availability targets by following SOPs, operating standards, and preventive maintenance practices. 
• Minimize breakdowns, rework, process losses, and operational inefficiencies through effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and adherence to best operating practices. 
• Support continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and quality initiatives to enhance process reliability, product quality, productivity, and overall plant performance.

• Participate in training programs, SOP reviews, and skill development activities to enhance operational and maintenance competency. 
• Actively engage in shift handovers, team discussions, and cross-functional coordination to ensure effective communication and smooth plant operations. 
• Support knowledge sharing, implementation of best practices, and continuous learning to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency. 
• Utilize digital systems and operational tools effectively while contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
