Job Description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing strategic manpower planning for pilots and cabin crew across the Air India Group, ensuring alignment with operational needs and future growth, and in future to handle resource planning for other departments as well.
Overseeing the development and delivery of complex dashboards and automation solutions through a team of data engineers.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize systems and analytics capabilities supporting IOCC operations.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic Activities:
- Lead a high-performing team of resource planners and data analyst to deliver optimum manpower requirement and savings.
- Develop and implement strategic crew manpower planning models, integrating data from scheduling, training, and regulatory systems.
- Forecast crew requirements using predictive analytics, market trends, and operational data.
Other Activities:
- Provide data-driven inputs to Group Hiring Cell and HR for crew hiring forecasts and execution.
- Facilitate crew movement across AOCs through analytics-backed planning.
- Develop and track KPIs for manpower planning and operational performance.
- Support business continuity and operational scalability through robust data infrastructure and reporting systems.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage resource planners.
- Set clear KPIs and performance expectations, and drive accountability across the team.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as standalone projects or ongoing initiatives, in agreement with the reporting officer and HR.

Key Interfaces:
Internal Interfaces:
- Coordinate with all operational teams including Flight Operations and Cabin Crew Operations to ensure quick communication over any delays, requests, or solutions related to crew manpower planning.
- Coordinate crew availability and scheduling to align with pairing and rostering teams.
- Ensure recruitment process run on time to be able to plan for new, incoming crew.
External Interfaces:
- Manage relationships, collaborate on system development, enhancements, and issue resolution.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Degree and/or related field experience in an airline operational environment.
- 9+ years of work experience.
- 6+ years in manpower planning preferably in aviation.
- Strong understanding of airline operations and regulatory frameworks.
