Job Description
:
We are looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to build and maintain strong working relationships with banks on behalf of our Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) - specifically their Collections and Stressed Assets teams. This is a pure relationship-management role centred on nurturing the banking channel and understanding where accounts within partner banks may be trending toward stress, rather than sourcing or acquiring assets - origination and deal execution are owned by a separate acquisition team. The role is central to representing the company as a trusted, consistent point of contact for partner banks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with banking counterparts, including Collections teams, Stressed Assets Management Groups (SAMG), NPA/Recovery vertical heads, and Credit teams across public and private sector banks/NBFCs.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the ARC and partner banks for ongoing engagements, portfolio reviews, and resolution updates.
- Develop a working understanding of accounts within partner banks' Collections and Stressed Assets portfolios that may be trending toward NPA classification, and share this market intelligence with the internal acquisition team sourcing and deal execution are owned separately and are not part of this role.
- Facilitate warm introductions and hand-offs between partner banks and the internal acquisition team when a potential opportunity surfaces, without owning deal evaluation or execution.
- Stay informed on upcoming NPA sale processes (Swiss challenge, e-auctions, bilateral deals) floated by banks, and flag these promptly to the internal acquisition team.
- Liaise with the internal acquisition, credit, and resolution teams to keep the banking relationship smooth through and after any transaction, even though deal execution itself sits with the acquisition team.
- Maintain a regular visit/meeting cadence with key bank branches, zonal/regional offices, and stressed asset verticals in Mumbai and surrounding regions.
- Provide market intelligence on upcoming stressed asset opportunities, competitor activity, and regulatory/industry developments (RBI guidelines, IBC updates, etc.).
- Support relationship-building efforts through participation in industry forums, bank empanelment processes, and RFP responses.
- Prepare periodic MIS/reports on relationship mapping, engagement cadence, and account-level intelligence shared with the acquisition team for each banking partner.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (RBI ARC guidelines, SARFAESI Act) in all relationship and engagement activities.
