Platform Engineering Engineer 4

Summary of the Role

As a Platform Engineering Engineer 4, you'll help design, implement, maintain, and improve Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure across enterprise and data center environments. You will work with internal teams, technology partners, and stakeholders to deliver reliable networking solutions, support operational excellence, and contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll play an important role in network engineering, project delivery, troubleshooting, cloud networking, and service optimization while helping ensure stable and secure network operations.

In This Role You'll / Your Main Responsibilities

• Coordinate network engineering projects from engineering acceptance through completion, including reviewing High-Level Designs (HLD), identifying risks, preparing Low-Level Designs (LLD), and supporting implementation activities.
• Design, configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise and data center network infrastructure using technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and related platforms.
• Support Internet Protocol (IP) core networks, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) services, routing technologies, and Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions while performing monitoring, performance optimization, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver network solutions, resolve technical issues, and support operational services.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes using scripting, Infrastructure as Code, and modern engineering practices.

About the Ideal Candidate

• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise WAN and data center network environments.

• Knowledge of networking technologies including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Intermediate System to Intermediate System (ISIS), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Quality of Service (QoS), and related networking concepts.

• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) networking platforms, along with familiarity with cloud networking concepts and automation tools such as Python or Ansible.

• Effective problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and within diverse global teams.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience, along with approximately 6-9 years of experience in network engineering, WAN design, or network operations.

Preferred Certifications and Skills

• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS), or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP).
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
• Awareness of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes and service-management practices.
• Experience with public or private cloud environments.
• Experience with network automation, infrastructure scripting, or operational process improvements.
