About the role

We are looking for a Senior Catalog Executive to lead a team of 15 catalog specialists and own the accuracy, speed and quality of our product catalog. You will run day-to-day operations, build a QC dashboard to track and reduce errors, and use Excel and AI tools to automate repetitive work.
This role suits a hands-on people leader who is detail-oriented, communicates clearly across teams, and is always looking for a smarter way to get the job done.

Key responsibilities

Team leadership and people management
  • Lead, motivate and manage a team of 15 catalog interns and specialists.
  • Set clear goals, track individual performance and run regular one-on-ones and feedback sessions.
  • Handle performance reviews, recognition and improvement plans.
  • Build a positive, accountable team culture with low attrition.
Quality control and error reduction
  • Create and maintain a team QC dashboard tracking error rates, error types and accuracy by team member.
  • Analyse recurring errors, find root causes and put corrective actions in place.
  • Define quality standards, checklists and SOPs for catalog work.
  • Run periodic audits to ensure listings are accurate and consistent.
Operations, bandwidth and leave management
  • Plan daily and weekly workload and allocate tasks based on team bandwidth and priorities.
  • Manage leave planning, attendance and shift coverage, including Saturdays, so operations run without disruption.
  • Meet turnaround times (TAT) and productivity targets.
  • Flag capacity risks early and plan backups.
Training and onboarding
  • Train new joiners on catalog processes, tools, quality standards and SOPs.
  • Build and update training material and run refresher sessions for the existing team.
  • Identify skill gaps and upskill team members.
Communication and collaboration
  • Coordinate within the team to keep everyone aligned on priorities and process changes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as product, tech, supply, marketing and business teams to resolve catalog issues and deliver requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for catalog-related escalations.
Reporting
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on productivity, quality, TAT and team performance.
  • Present insights and recommendations to management.
Automation and AI
  • Identify manual, repetitive tasks and automate them using Excel, AI tools and other solutions.
  • Use AI tools (for example ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) for content creation, data cleanup, attribute enrichment and quality checks.
  • Work with tech teams to implement process improvements and automation ideas.

Requirements

Experience
  • 2-3 years of Experience in catalog management, e-commerce operations or a related field.
  • At least 2 years managing a team of 10 or more people.
  • Graduate in any discipline; an MBA or operations background is a plus.
Skills
  • Excel: strong working knowledge, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation and dashboard building.
  • AI and automation: hands-on use of AI tools and an automation mindset; able to spot what can be automated and make it happen.
  • People management: proven ability to lead, coach and retain a team, and to handle conflicts and performance issues.
  • Communication: clear verbal and written communication in English, with confidence working across teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail: a strong eye for accuracy and quality in high-volume data work.
  • Reporting: able to turn data into clear, useful reports and dashboards.
  • Planning: strong organisation skills for workload, bandwidth and leave planning.
Other
  • Willing to work from the Pune office, Monday to Friday. Saturday will be Work from home, as per the timings above.

Good to have

  • Experience with catalog tools, CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets.
  • Basic knowledge of macros, Apps Script.
  • Experience setting up SOPs and quality frameworks from scratch.

What success looks like in the first 6 months

  • A measurable drop in catalog error rates month on month.
  • At least two manual processes automated with Excel or AI.
  • Smooth day-to-day operations with no TAT misses caused by planning or leave gaps.
