Sr Manager Data Scientist

Integral role in supporting AIM’s data analysis, system control, and database needs. Provide strategic ideas and thought leadership. Has/can apply solid financial industry data systems knowledge to support decision and strategy problems in key business areas. Demonstrates strong technical/problem solving skills. Manages multiple projects collaboratively. Works with HR in recruitment and performance appraisal process. Mentor the team members and layout their growth path.

Responsibilities

• Assists the designs, development, implementation of information-based decision logic and predictive modeling solutions that feed decision logic. May be involved directly with key flagship initiatives


• Partners closely with the Business, technology, and Analytics leaders supporting Asset Management to plan, design, develop, integrate, and implement the identified analytics solution. Performs hands on advanced programing, visualization, and Analytics algorithms task


• Provides input on tool and technology selection and shares evolving best practices


• Develops, documents, and communicates business-driven analytic solutions and capabilities, assists in translating modeling and analytic output into understandable and actionable business knowledge. Lead core groups to devise solutions which may lead enhancing functional as well as qualitative skill-sets of the overall team


• Coordinates, mentors, prioritize business needs in a matrix management environment. Provides experimental design experience to insure the statistical significance of marketing test programs and tracking of process improvements. Will persuade others in the department for knowledge sharing and understanding


• Support in developing competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Actively drives Strategic decisions


• Participate in solving multiple complex problems. Coach team members on performance, complete employee performance evaluations, and recommend pay actions. Work closely with HR in executing and optimizing recruitment process


• Supervise and resolve existing and possible challenges in the team. Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors

Required Qualifications

• Engineering (B.E./ B.Tech.) graduate or Masters (Stats, Quant, Mathematics, OR, etc.) from a well-recognized institute, having MBA degree would be preferred


• 15+ years of experience in advanced analytical skill-oriented work profiles


• Experience with Finance industry 5+ years, specifically supporting Asset Management, Insurance, Banking, and other investment instruments


• Experience in Predictive modeling – Linear / logistic regression, Segmentation, Design of Experiments, Machine Learning, NLP, Geospatial analysis, etc.


• Excellent communication skills – will be required to liaise independently with senior US counterparts on a variety of business problems


• Proven experience of leading projects with multiple stakeholder management, coordination, and collaboration


• People Leadership Experience (5+ years) – Should have prior experience of leading team members, with responsibilities such as Hiring, Performance management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on working with AWS Cloud framework and associated tools


• Experience on working in data lake environment


• Researching, assessing, and processing digital geographic images and data for developing models and maps is preferred


• Knowledge about DataIku, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview and other BI and analytical tools is preferred
