Requires

Dy. Director – Industry Relations(HR)

Essential: MBA/PG Diploma in Human Resource Management / Industrial Relations & Personnel Management (from a recognised university/institute).

Preferred/Additional: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Labour Law, Labour & Social Welfare, or Industrial Relations

Recommended Experience Criteria: 20 plus years of relevant experience in Industrial Relations/HR, with hands-on exposure to managing support staff (Class IV), preferably in an academic or large institutional setup.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Grievance Handling & Redressal - Addressing day-to-day grievances of Class IV staff (housekeeping, security, maintenance, drivers, peons, etc.) related to work conditions, duty allocation, and interpersonal issues. • Ensuring timely resolution to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Disciplinary Matters - Handling cases of misconduct, absenteeism, insubordination, or policy violations. • Conducting enquiries, issuing show-cause notices/warnings, and recommending disciplinary action as per institutional policy and labour law.
  • Compliance with Labour Laws - Ensuring adherence to applicable labour laws (Minimum Wages Act, EPF, ESI, Contract Labour Act, etc.) for outsourced/contractual Class IV staff. • Coordinating with contractors/vendors for statutory compliance and timely wage disbursement.
  • Union/Staff Association Liaison - Engaging with staff representatives or unions (where applicable) to maintain smooth communication and pre-empt unrest. • Negotiating on matters like working hours, leave policies, and welfare benefits.

    Attendance & Duty Management - Overseeing attendance, shift scheduling, and duty rosters for support staff. • Ensuring adequate manpower deployment across departments/campus locations.
  • Welfare & Engagement - Organising welfare initiatives (medical camps, festivals, recognition programs) to boost morale. • Acting as a bridge between management and support staff to build trust and reduce attrition.
  • Contract & Vendor Management - Managing outsourced manpower contracts, renewals, and performance evaluation of vendors supplying Class IV staff. • Ensuring service-level adherence and cost optimisation.
  • Conflict Resolution - Mediating disputes between Class IV staff and other departments/faculty/students. • Escalating sensitive matters to senior management with recommended course of action.
