Role Description The Assistant Professor of Forensic Science is a full-time, on-site position based in the Mohali district. The role involves teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in forensic science, including lecture delivery, lab supervision, curriculum development, and student assessment. The faculty member will guide student projects, mentor learners on academic and career pathways, and support a student-centered learning environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting high-quality research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, seeking research funding, and contributing to collaborative projects. The role also includes participation in departmental meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities, and outreach initiatives that advance the mission of the university.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Forensic Science or a closely related discipline (Ph.D. preferred; candidates with an excellent academic record and relevant professional experience may also be considered).
• Demonstrated expertise in core areas of forensic science (such as forensic biology, chemistry, toxicology, crime scene investigation, or digital forensics) and the ability to teach related laboratory courses.
• Evidence of research potential or established research record, including publications, conference presentations, or funded projects in forensic science or allied fields.
• Strong teaching, curriculum design, and assessment skills, with a commitment to student engagement, inclusive pedagogies, and continuous improvement.
